IMPORTANCE OF MAHASHIVRATRI
SHIVRATRI falls on the 14th day of Lunar Month. Shivratri falling in Falgun month is called Maha Shivratri. On this day due to the position of Sun and Moon, the flow of energy is very high.
The northern hemisphere of the Earth is positioned in such a way, that it creates a higher energy level in human beings, that's why on this Maharatri there is a tradition of waking up whole night till sunrise. If it is not possible, then as much as you can.
WHAT TO DO
If you are awake for whole night, it doesn't mean to lie down on bed with your mobile or gossiping with friends. It means that you should sit with straight spine (as much as possible), do chanting of A-U-M or any mantra or you can do dhyaan.
If you sit quietly with straight spine, you will be more receptive to receive positive energies.
This MAHARATRI is equally important for family people (grahast) or those who are on the path of spirituality.
MAHASHIVRATRI IS ONE OF THE 4 MAHARATRIS IN WHICH THE POWERS AND ENERGIES ARE VERY HIGH FOR A HUMAN BEING TO ENHANCE SPIRITUALLY AS WELL AS MENTALLY.
